The screen shot of her testimonial is after we did the second phase of care. Functional Medicine in order to further improve her gut and autoimmunity complaints. While she had improved so much already we knew there was some ongoing gut/autoimmunity issues going on.
So we ordered specific auto-antibody blood testing through Cyrex Labs that revealed her body was creating antibodies (autoimmunity) towards the parietal cells of her stomach, preventing the production of intrinsic factor, thereby preventing her from absorbing and assimilating B12 from her diet. Intrinsic factor is the "taxi" that normally takes B12 from ones diet and delivers it into the body to be absorbed.
There's no way for her to absorb B12 from the meats or other food she eats nor would buying supplements from our store do her any good. No matter how much B12 she consumes (the passengers) there is no intrinsic factor (the taxi) to deliver it to the tissue of the body. This test basically shows that she will need to get B12 injections periodically. The name of this condition is Pernicious Anemia. We could not have figured this vital information out had we not done the blood testing for it.
We learn a lot of things from a person's blood work and this isn't one that we usually see. Its impossible to guess without objective info like this.
The same labs also revealed which foods in her diet were triggering the autoimmunity. Like a roadmap she can now navigate her diet with precision as to not trigger the autoimmunity symptoms as before.
